Membership

Join Orienteering Wellington for discounted club events, training opportunities and a community of fellow orienteers. Choose Standard or Premium membership for the calendar year.

Membership is free for juniors aged 7 and under. Your age is as of 31 December. Membership is for a calendar year. If you join in November or December, full fees are payable but membership runs to the end of the following year.

Compare memberships

For club-level events hosted by us—including local sprints, Sunday orienteering and Orienteer of the Year (OY)—Premium membership covers the full entry fee with advance registration. Standard membership covers half. We typically host around 20 events each year.

See event pricing for entry fees, conditions and exceptions. Discounts for members helping with event administration may also be available where the budget permits, depending on the role.

Casual participants pay normal event prices, plus an administration levy for on-the-day entry. For major events, casual entrants also pay an ONZ levy; check each event’s entry requirements.

Prioritised access to club training, including Tuesday sprint training, training camps and orienteering coaching.
Mapping, course planning and course controlling guidance.
Access to OCAD, Condes and Orienteering Wellington maps for your own training.
Affiliation to Orienteering New Zealand (ONZ) and the Wellington Orienteering Association (WOA), allowing participation in regional, national and international events without paying an ONZ levy.
Access to the members-only Facebook group.
End-of-year and other occasional social events.

New members

Choose Register to join Orienteering Wellington. Register each family member separately. If you would like household accounts linked so their details can be maintained from one login, contact Anna Varnham, Memberships Officer.

Existing members

If this is your first time using the registration system, follow the instructions for new members above. If you registered in a previous year, you will receive an email with a renewal invoice in the new year.
