About this control - Former Eastbourne Ferry ticket office

This two-storeyed, plain weatherboard building dates from about 1913 and its name is derived from a former owner, the Eastbourne Borough Council. The Council ran a ferry service between Eastbourne and the waterfront from 1913 until 1948. They were the first local authority in the country to do so. The ticket office eventually became a familiar landmark to thousands of commuters.
